Tooting Durga Puja 2009

Tooting Durga Puja is a landmark of an Asian Charity Organization based in the heart of Tooting, South London. It started celebrating Durga Puja since the year 1986 with a handful of inspiring and active Bengalis which has now, by Ma Durga's grace, grown to a mammoth shape involving hundreds of people. This year it will be celebrated at Jasmins Banqueting Hall at 202 Upper Tooting Road, London SW17 7TG. There are other socio-cultural and charitable activities involved as well. As Ma Durga’s maha-prasadam, fresh and delicious vegetarian meals are prepared everyday on the premises and served free of charge to all our privileged visitors and devotees twice a day everyday, along with fruits and other hot and cool non-alcoholic drinks.
 
This British-Indian organization offers the best of Asian culture and tradition with grace and pride. The organization provides an opportunity for the next generation to learn about the rich and ancient cultural heritage of India, through organizing various talent shows, literary events and other cultural events where the youths actively participate. We provide support to many affiliated charitable organizations and every year we select one of them and financially lend our hands to them to bring happiness to the deprived ones.
